Kochi: After sending outdated humanitarian aid to flood ravaged Sri Lanka,Pakistan is in the midst of embarrassment.
Articles including medical supplies, food packets, and essential items sent to Sri Lanka were found expired, media reports said.
Colombo has conveyed its displeasure to Islamabad through both formal and informal diplomatic channels.
Sri Lankan officials said the shipment raised questions about the quality and seriousness of Pakistan’s humanitarian assistance.
The Sri Lankan civil society reacted harshly on social media, with some calling the expired aid “an insult” and “a joke of aid diplomacy”.
Some have urged the government to demand accountability from Pakistan.
