Country to test war vigil tomorrow
Kochi: A nationwide civil, defence mock drill will be held across 244 districts to test India’s war preparedness in the wake of Pakistan backed terrorists killing 26 people in Kashmir on April 22.
India has underscored its resolution to strike against terrorists who have countless bases in Pakistan.
The drill will be held in states, including Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, and Gujarat.
It will test air raid warning response system, blackouts response, emergency response systems among others.
Air raid sirens are the first way to warn people during a crisis, and each district must make sure these systems are working.
The drill will help to prepare the citizens to face any emergency situation and make corrections to follies.
It is aimed at testing communication links with the Indian Air Force, functioning of control rooms and backup (shadow) rooms, train civilians to remain safe among others.
