Kochi: Four members of a family met with a watery grave in Bharathapuzha at Painkulam in Cheruthuruthy in Thrissur today.
Kabir, 47, wife Shahina, 35, their daughter Sara, 10, and Shahina’s niece Fuwath, 12, drowned in the river.
The family reportedly visited the Bharathapuzha in the evening after arriving at Shahina’s sister’s house.
According to locals the children fell into the river while playing. Kabir and Shahina jumped into the river to save the children when they too got caught in the current.
