Kochi: Over 75% polling was recorded in the second and final phase of the Local Bodies polls in Thrissur, Palakkad, Kannur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, and Kasaragod on Thursday.
Electors voted to elect members to village panchayats, Block panchayats, District Panchayats, Municipalities and Corporations.
Voting was held in 18,274 polling stations from 7 am to 6 pm. There were 2,055 sensitive polling stations.
As many as 1.53 crore voters, including 72.46 lakh men, 80.90 lakh women and 161 transgender persons were in the voting list.
There weŕe 3,293 overseas voters. A total of 38,994 candidates were in the fray.
Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Idukki, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam and Ernakulam went to polling on December 9 with a turnout of around 70%. Results will be declared on December 13.
