Kochi:Eight persons were killed and many injured when a lorry ploughed into a Lord Ganesh immersion procession at Mosale Hosahalli in Hassan taluk in Karnataka, media reports said.
Most of those died were young persons.
The condition of five persons is said to be critical.
The procession was being taken out on National Highway 373, on Friday night when the incident happened.
There are reports that the good lorry was negotiating a two wheeler when the driver lost Conte and crashed into the processionists.
