Kochi: Hassan Nasrallah, 64, secretary-general of Hezbollah, a Shia Islamist political party and militant group, was killed in an Israeli strikes on Beirut, media reports said.
Hezbollah has confirmed his death. Nasrallah has not been seen in public for years because of fears of being assassinated by Israel, the reports said.
Israel continued to strike on targets in Lebanon, with Hezbollah retaliating by firing rockets into Israel. At least 800 people have been killed in Israeli strikes in Lebanon since Monday, the reports said.
