Kochi: A maiden case based on Justice Hema Committee findings has been registered against a makeup artist in Kottayam, media reports said.
Saji Koratty has been booked based on the deposition made before the committee which was set up by Kerala Government to probe into allegations of atrocities against female artists in Malayalam film industry.
The special investigation team formed to probe sexual allegations made by a few actresses following the publication of the report will start the investigation into the victim’s charges against the makeupman.
A few female artists have lodged complaints against actors including CPM leader Mukesh, MLA and Siddique accusing them of sexually abusing them after the report was published.
The abduction and sexual abuse of a leading actress on February 17, 2017, led to the split of actors’ outfit AMMA with most of the female artists forming a women only outfut WCC on whose demand the Justice Hema Committee was constituted in 2017.
