Kochi: Police have booked chief associate director Dhinil Babu after a woman accused him of casting couch, Asianet News reported.
The woman accused Dhinil of luring her to a building near actor Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Film’s office in Panampilly Nagar, Kochi, for a discussion on a new film.
She accused him of locking her up in a room and assaulting her. Dhinil allegedly claimed to be associated with
Actor Dulquer Salmaan’s production house Wayfarer Films which has rejected this and has initiated legal action against him for making false claims.
The Ernakulam South Police have registered a case and started investigation.
According to a statement from Wayfarer Films, Dhinil has no association with the company and has not been involved in any of its projects. The production house lodged a formal complaint at Thevara Police Station and with FEFKA, the organisation representing film technicians in the Malayalam industry, accusing him of defaming the company by linking it to a “casting couch” allegation.
Wayfarer Films also cautioned the public not to fall for unauthorised or fraudulent casting notices.
