Kochi: The first Ayush cup football championship was organised by Kerala government health service as part of developing a healthy life campaign through sports.
A football championship was organised in which the National Health Mission (NHM) defeated
Indian System of Medicine (ISM)
2-1 on January 9 at Thodupuzha Soccer School grounds.
ISM, National Ayush Mission (NAM) jointly came second. Former Santosh Trophy player P A Saleemkutty inaugurated.
Thodupuzha district Ayurveda Hospital chief medical officer Dr U B Sheeja presided.

National Ayush Mission DPM Dr K S Sreedarshan delivered felicitations.
Thodupuzha sports ayurveda department organised the championship.
Sports Ayurveda department medical officers imparted the importance of physical activity before and after the championship to the players. Dr Qayas distributed prizes to winners. Dr Sreedarshan K S presented trophies. Dr Sheeja Jayan delivered the valedictory address. Dr Vineeth R delivered a vote of thanks.
The Ayush Cup is part of Kerala Health Department’s programme to promote sports through initiatives like “Arogyam Anandam – Vibe 4 Wellness”
The aim of the programme is to promote exercise, healthy eating for preventing lifestyle diseases.
