Kochi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday claimed that the BJP would make a good performance in the Local Bodies and Assembly polls in Kerala, media reports said.
The party will secure 25 per cent seats in the upcoming local body elections in the state, Shah inaugurating the development summit organised by Malayala Manorama newspaper in Kochi.
Shah said the potential of the state is underutilized due to strange ideology.
Shah said the centre had given Rs 5,100 crore to Kerala for disaster management. This is more than ever.
Later, Shah attended the BJP Kerala State Leadership Meet ahead of the Local bodies election in Kochi on Friday, media reports said.
Kerala BJP president Rajeev Chandrasekhar and other senior leaders received Shah. He interacted with the workers from the district level to the state level.
He will go to Tamil Nadu to examine preparations for the state polls next year.
Strong security arrangements have been made in Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu in connection with Shah’s visit.
BJP’s National Co-Incharge in Tamil Nadu, P Sudhakar Reddy, said that Amit Shah will give directions to the party workers for their booth-level campaign.
