Kochi: A top jail cop has been booked by the Kerala Vigilance lfor taking bribes on many occasions, Kerala Kaumudi reported.
The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau registered a case against the Prisons DIG Vinod Kumar for taking bribes from jail personnel, jail inmates, relatives of inmates for doing favour to them.
Vinod is a black listed cop who was suspended on a few occasions previously.
Vinod is accused to be close to the ruling Left government which promoted him as DIG.
Vinod is accused of helping Kodi Suni who is one among the few convicted for killing RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan.
Jail chief Manoj Abraham has order a probe into his disproportionate wealth.
