Kochi: The Central government has sanctioned ₹260.56 crore for the rehabilitation of Wayanad which was badly hit by last year’s flood. The centre has approved ₹4,645.60 for a series of mitigation, recovery and reconstruction projects in nine states including Kerala.
The decision was taken by a the High-Level Committee (HLC) chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The HLC also cleared the second phase of the Urban Flood Risk Management Programme (UFRMP) for eleven cities including Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. The government had also sanctioned ₹3,075.65 crore under UFRMP projects worth ₹3,075.65 for seven metros.
