Kochi: The Congress-ruled Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) of 2017 is under scanner after it has surfaced that Vajivahanam given to Sabarimala Tantri was in violation of TDB order, Asianet News reported.
The order of 2012 issued by the TDB Commissioner specifically underscores that old artefacts removed from the temple are public property which should be kept safely in a strong room.
The order was issued in respect to new artefacts replacing old ones. The order said such artefacts are Temple property and no one can take it anywhere.
Ignoring this order the then TDP president Congress leader Prayar Gopalakrishnan and TDB member Ajay Tharayil of Congress handed over Vajivahanam to Thantri in 2017.
The circular was sent to all temples under TDB.
Ironically the then TDB had not mentioned in records that the Vajivahanam was handed over to Thanthri.
