Kochi: Muslim Education Society (MES) chief Dr Fazal Gafoor was taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a money Laundering case, media reports said.
The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) had earlier sent notices to Dr Gafoor who did respond to the notices based on a complaint of acTirur native in connection with investment in a super specialty hospital.
Dr Fazal was taken into custody from Nedumbassery airport in Koch while he was planning to leave for Australia.
Dr Faizal who was released after questioning has been asked to appear before the ED soon in connection with Rs 200 crore converting black money.
