Kochi: Alleged misuse of public transport buses for Congress political convention in Karnataka hit the public adversely from 7 am to 5 pm on Thursday, media reports said.
A total of 2,162 government buses from
eight divisions from cities like Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Mandya, Hassan were dedicated for the convention Janakalyana Swabhimani Janakalyana Samavesha’ in Hassan.
Buses were also used from Puttur, Chikkamagaluru, Davangere, Tumakuru, and Shivamogga divisions. This badly hit normal activities of the public who protested against the Congress government at several places.
A total of 287 buses out of 575 were diverted for the convention from Mysuru city division; 350 out of 748 from Mysuru rural division; 150 out of 529 from Mandya division, 300 out of 610 from Hassan division, 275 buses from Chamarajanagar division, 800 buses from Chikmagalur, Davangere, Tumakuru, Puttur, Shivamogga were used to ferry people to attend the convention, the reports said.
