Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Monday dismissed a plea by a widow seeking a CBI probe into the controversial death of her husband Naveen Babu, Additional District Magistrate.
Rejecting the plea of Naveen’s wife, Manjusha, the court directed the DIG (Kannur) to supervise the ongoing SIT investigation. The court directed the SIT to submit periodical reports to the DIG on the progress of the investigation.
The court also directed the SIT to inform the petitioner about the status of the probe.
Manjush raised concerns over police’s theory of suicide without completing the inquest and autopsy.
Naveen Babu was found hanging in his official quarters in Kannur on October 15, a day after CPM leader and Kannur Panchayat President P P Divya accused him of bribery.
Divya was arrested and was released after she secured a bail.
