Kochi: A Hindu boy, who married a Muslim, has accused his in-laws of coercing him to embrace Islam illegally in Gadag in Karnataka, Times of India reported.
In his police complaint, Vishalkumar said he and his lover Tahashin registered their marriage
on November 26, 2024 under the Special Marriage Act in Gadag,
without informing anyone.
However, his mother-in-law and kin came to know about it and coerced him to marry Tahashin at a mosque in Gadag on April 25, 2025.
After the marriage, his in-laws coerced him to offer namaz in a mosque and pressured him to embrace Islam making him mentally sick.
Meanwhile, videos of the marriage became viral drawing the attention of his family who wanted to solemnize the marriage under Hindu customs which was rejected by his wife.
