Kochi:US President Donald Trump announced that a “complete and total” ceasefire will happen to end the conflict between Israel and Iran, BBC reports said.
Israel and Iran would have some time to complete any missions that are underway, at which point the ceasefire would begin, he posted in his Truth Social.
Trump claimed that a 12-hour ceasefire between Israel and Iran was reached and will begin in 6 hours. After 12 hours Israel would follow suit.
The 12-day War could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East, he warned.
Iran denied any ceasefire. However, it said Tehran would consider it if Israel stopped its aggression.
Israel is yet to officially confirm the ceasefire. Qatar had reportedly played a role in helping to broker the deal.
Trump’s announcement comes hours after Iran claimed of hitting a US base in Qatar which claimed to have countered the attack and intercepted the Iranian missiles.
Iran’s attack on the US is seen as a retaliation for US participation in Israel’s bombing campaign against Iran. The US had attacked three nuclear sites in Iran a few days back.
