Kochi: Metroman E Sreedharan met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and discussed the prospects of a new railway line between Nilambur and Mysuru on Friday.
Sreedharan raised the long pending public demand for Nilambur-Nanjangud railway line which would benefit both Karnataka and Kerala.
It would help Karnataka have easy access to Kochi port.
E Sreedharan, who is the former MD Delhi of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, gave many suggestions to improve rail infrastructure and connectivity in Kerala, Vaishnaw posted on X.
There is an existing single line from Nilambur to Shornur junction in Palakkad division.
