Kochi: Tirumala Sri Venkateswara temple management is considering a request from a Muslim devotee to carry out voluntary services (Srivari Seva) in the hill shrine, media reports said.
Hussain Bhasha had sought opportunities for Muslim devotees to perform Srivari Seva to Lord Venkateswara from temple administration.
Reports quoting Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam executive officer A V Dharma Reddy said the management is examining the request.
Acknowledging the faith of the devotee, Reddy, said that devotees belonging to other religions have been giving donations in the past.
Srivari Seva was launched about a quarter century back in 2000 to offer voluntary service to pilgrims coming from across the globe.
