NDA spots VP nominee

Kochi: Maharashtra Governor P Radhakrishnan was named the NDA candidate for the post of Vice President.
Weeks after the resignation of Jagdeep Dhankhar, the BJP announced his name on Sunday, media reports said.
The election will be held on September 9.
He has about four decades of experience in politics, BJP President J P Nadda said.
Radhakrishnan was also the Governor of Jharkhand, with additional charge of Pondicherry.
He was MP twice from Coimbatore and was the president of BJP Tamil Nadu.
The victory target is 394 out of 786 adding members of both houses. The NDA’s combined strength in the two houses is 422 comprising 293 in the Lok Sabha and 129 in the Rajya Sabha.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on X that Radhakrishnan has done extensive work at the grassroots level in Tamil Nadu and he was glad that the NDA family has decided to nominate him as the Vice Presidential candidate of the alliance.
Earlier, the BJP parliamentary board nominated Radhakrishnan as the NDA candidate for vice-president‘s post.
