Kochi: Allahabad High Court rejected bail plea of a 62-year-old man accused Ansar Ahmad Siddique
of sharing a “Pakistan Zindabad” post on Facebook, media reports said.
Rejecting the plea, the court said the judiciary’s tolerance of anti-national acts is contributing to their rise.
The court held that Siddique’s act was “disrespectful to the Constitution and its ideals” and amounted to challenging the country’s sovereignty.
The court said that he is not entitled to seek protection under Article 21 of the Constitution due to “his irresponsible and anti-national conduct,” the court said.
