Chicago: Apu John Joseph has requested overseas Malayalis and organizations to invest in support of farmers who have had success in agri-entrepreneurship. He opined that overseas Malayalis can support the agriculturists by becoming venture capitalists in these sectors. He brought these matters to the attention of American Malayalis in cities like Chicago, New York, Miami and Tampa.
Many young people are working successfully in the agricultural entrepreneurship sector today. He added that by investing in those sectors, many job opportunities can be created, economic profits can be achieved and through this, the youth can be attracted to agriculture, value-added products and agri marketing sectors. He also mentioned that Kerala can only be saved if the agricultural sector, on which about 65 percent of the population still depends, is taken up. Sunny Vallikkalam, Mathew Thattamattom, Shibu Mulayanikunnel, Roy Mattapally, Renji Manalel, Joji Mangalat, Sanu Kalapurayil, Jaymon Simon and others participated representing various associations.
