Pak-Afghan talks begin

Kochi: Afghanistan and Pakistan began talks brokered by Turkey in Istanbul on Saturday to find peace at their borders, media reports said.
The two were engaged in fierce battle for two weeks claiming many lives on both sides.
The fight was triggered by blasts in Kabul who retaliated by attacking along the border. In reply, Islamabad carried out
“precision strikes” on armed groups inside Afghan territory.
Intervention of Qatar and Turkey brought a temporary ceasefire during talks in Doha.
who will represent it.
While Kabul wants to focus on safety of its people and resources,
Pakistan wants to bring to an end cross-border militant threats, mainly from the Pakistani Taliban (TTP).
Ironically, Pakistan was the one which once gave asylum to the Taliban to counter India.
The Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi’s recent visit to India has rattled Pakistan which was engaged in battle with Kabul during the trip of Muttaqi.
The talks will conclude on Sunday.
