Kochi: In a face saving move, police arrested two taxi drivers and suspended two police policemen for harassing a tourist and her acquaintances of Mumbai at Munnar the other day.
The police are searching for another taxi driver to be arrested.
The complainant and others were harassed by taxi drivers by preventing them from using online taxis to travel in the hill station. When she summoned the police, they too sided with the taxi drivers adding insult to injury. The tourism department officials expressed helplessness.
Shocked at the prevailing condition, they wound up their trip and returned to Mumbai.
But Jhanvi was not the one to take things lightly. She made the incident public through social media in which she announced she vowed not to visit Kerala in future which was taken seriously by Tourism Minister Mohammed Rias.
