Kochi: The Kerala Crime Branch will collect evidence from women who had reportedly made allegations of sexual abuse against Rahul Mamkootathil, MLA, of Congress, Asianet News reported.
The investigation team will also collect statements from those who have indirectly accused Rahul of abusing them.
Crime Branch DySP Binu Kumar will lead the investigation.
Rahul is likely to meet the media today.
The Crime Branch suo moto booked Rahul yesterday. The case was registered after a march taken out by the Youth Congress to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s residence ended in clashes yesterday.
The march was organised to protest against DYFI making remarks against Congress leader Shafi Parambil, MP.
