Kochi: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi offered floral tributes to former Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on his second death anniversary at his resting place in Puthuppally in Kottayam today, media reports said.
Thousands gathered at St George Orthodox Church at Puthupally in the rubber city of Kottayam to pay obeisances to Chandy.
Rahul inaugurated a memorial meeting in Puthuppally, party leaders said.
Rahul will hand over keys of 12 new houses built by Oommen Chandy Foundation for the poor.
He will also launch a new charitable initiative named ‘Smrititharangam’.
Rahul will call on senior Congress leader and former Union Minister A K Antony at Thiruvananthapuram.
