Kochi: CPM leader and former Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) chief A Padmakumar will be grilled in police custody in connection with gold robbery from the temple in Kerala, Kerala Kaumudi reported.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up by the Kerala High Court will move the court seeking his custody tomorrow.
The SIT has seized his passport to probe into his travel abroad.
The SIT raided house and seized key documents like IT returns and his dealings with Unnikrishnan Potti who is the key accused in the case related to smuggling the golden artefacts outside the temple for recladding in Chennai and other places.
Earlier, the ex MLA appeared before the SIT for questioning in the case.
The Sabarimala temple gold robbery case happened in connivance with a so-called sponsor Unnikrishnan Potti when he was the TDB president in 2019.
Another accused and former TDB official N Vasu was sent to SIT custody by a Vigilance Court in Kollam.
The SIT has arrested five including prime accused Potti and Vasu in the case.
