Kochi: Kerala BJP leader C Sadanandan Master, described as ‘living martyr’ by BJP, has been nominated to the Rajya Sabha by the President of India.
Sadanandan got the ‘living martyr’ tag after he lost two of his feet in a RSS-CPM clash in 1994.
Born into a Leftist family in politically sensitive Kannur district, a stronghold of the Communist parties, Sadanandan joined RSS provoking the Communists.
Madhavan’s female friend with whom he was in a relationship during campus days, married him even after he lost his legs.
He contested assembly elections from the Koothuparamba in 2016 and 2021, but lost.
After completing B Ed in Guwahati, he joined Kuzhikkal LP School in Kannur. He served as president of the National Teachers’ Union, Deputy Vice President of Kerala BJP unit. He was associated with RSS affiliated with Bharatiya Vichara Kendram and worked in BJP’s Kerala mouthpiece, Janmabhoomi.
