Kochi: Kerala Chief Minister has appealed to the Prime Minister to save murder accused Kerala nurse Nimisha Priya from death penalty in Yemen on July 16, media reports said.
In his letter, Pinarayi Vijayan urged the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to use diplomatic channels with Yemen to avert Nimisha’s execution.
Hailing from Kollengode in Palakkad, Nimisha was convicted in 2020 for the murder of a Yemeni business partner in 2017.
Her final appeal was rejected by Yemen’s Supreme Judicial Council in November 2024.
