Kochi: Former Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) Administrative Officer (AO) Sreekumar was arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in connection with the robbery of gold artefacts from the hill shrine of Sabarimala, media reports said.
Sreekumar was the AO in 2019 when the robbery of golden sentries were removed and taken out of the temple illegally.
The Kerala High Court had rejected his anticipatory bail which he moved by claiming that he was innocent and had moved the file cleared by the top officials.
The SIT has arrested A Padmakumar, K S Baiju, Murari Babu, N Vasu of CPM and an agent Unnikrishnan Potti.
Former TDB secretary S Jayasree, who has been summoned by the SIT, has moved the Supreme Court seeking anticipatory bail after her plea was rejected by Kerala High Court.
