Kochi: Dwellers of three slums living along Race Course Road despite being allocated permanent shelters have been directed to vacate by March 6, media reports.
Residents of Bhai Ram Camp, Masjid Camp and DID Camp have been warned to face legal consequences failing to abide by the order.
The Centre has already allotted permanent houses to the slum Dwellers under the rehabilitation policy at Savda Ghevra in northwest Delhi.
The notice issued on Thursday stated that the slum clusters are being cleared to reclaim and secure government land in high-security and central zones of the capital.
Race Course Road houses key government and official residences and is considered a sensitive area.
Earlier, eviction notices to them were issued on October 29, 2025, advising them to vacate the existing premises to facilitate relocation.
The slum dwellers challenged the government order before the Delhi High Court, which, on November 13, 2025, directed compliance with due process.
