Kochi: India won the first T20 match against South Africa by eight wickets at the Greenfield stadium in Thiruvananthapuram today.
India made 110 for two in 16.4 overs chasing the winning target of 107 runs. K L Rahul hit a powerful 51 and Suryakumar Yadav 50. They two remained unbeaten.

Earlier, South Africa lost the toss and was asked to bat first. The visitors started their innings in a disastrous manner as five of its batsmen were back in pavilion even as the score was just nine.
Thanks to the timely knock of 41 by K Maharaj, 25 by Markram and 24 by Parnel of South Africa which helped the tourists to reach three digits score of 106 for 8.
Arshdeep Singh bowled excellently to claim 3 for 32, Deepak Chahar 2 for 24 and Patel 2 for 26. India is one up in the three T20 matches.
