Syndicate reinstates KU Registrar

Kochi: Even as the Kerala High Court is hearing suspension of Kerala University Registrar K S Anil Kumar for allegedly dishonouring the Governor, the Kerala University Syndicate on Sunday cancelled the suspension issued by the Vice Chancellor for cancelling a function of the Governor.
The syndicate decided to cancel the suspension even after Vice Chancellor-in-charge Ciza Thomas
dissolved the meeting after the chair refused to revoke the suspension.
The syndicate members belonging to Left parties and their supporters continued the meeting even after the chair dissolved the meeting.
Talking to reporters, the Vice Chancellor described the syndicate’s decision to cancel the suspension was invalid.
The resolution was not on the meeting’s agenda, she said.
Meanwhile, the Kerala High Court had rejected suspended Registrar’s plea to quash his suspension following his order to cancel a function called a few days back to release a book and honour RSS leaders by Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar coinciding with the imposition of Internal Emergency in 1975 by the Congress Government at the Centre.
