Kochi: The over a week long hostility between Pakistan and Taliban has ended after the two countries agreed to an “immediate ceasefire” after intervention by
Qatar and Turkey, BBC reported.
Pakistan always blamed the Taliban for orchestrating attacks in Pakistan.
On the other hand, the Taliban accused Pakistan of carrying out attacks in Kabul. Over 30 Afghan civilians have been killed and hundreds wounded.
Both sides have agreed to keep off from targeting each other. The two sides are set to meet in Istanbul for further talks next week.
Islamabad accused Afghanistan of arming the Pakistan Taliban, which has launched an armed insurgency against government forces.
The group has carried out at least 600 attacks on Pakistani forces over the last year, according to official data.
