Kochi:The Delhi blast that claimed 13 lives exposed the plan of the terror module to trigger multiple blasts which was foiled by police by seizing 2,900 kgs of explosives from Faridabad much before the blast.
The intelligence agencies suspected that the terror module was readying used vehicles to carry out the attacks.
The investigators also suspect that the serial blasts were planned to coincide with December 6 when Babri Masjid was demolished.
The perpetrators were allegedly readying 32 used vehicles to carry out the multiple
attacks, the reports said.
Around eight suspects were allegedly preparing to execute coordinated explosions at four locations, with each pair assigned to a specific target city.
Among those under scrutiny are individuals linked to past terror cases.
Sources revealed that about Rs 20 lakh in cash was handed over to blast accused Umar for operational expenses.
The funds were allegedly used to procure over 20 quintals of NPK fertiliser.
Delhi Police on Thursday confirmed that DNA samples of Dr Umar Un Nabi, who triggered the Delhi blast, matched with that of his mother’s.
