Tourists’ flow into Kashmir

Kochi: Undeterred by the terror attack in Kashmir, tourists continue to flow into Kashmir as per the records released by cable car operator JKCCC on Wednesday, media reports said.
The Jammu and Kashmir Cable Car Corporation (JKCCC) said that it will issue full refunds for all unused (“No Show”) and unconsumed tickets for April 22 and 23, Kashmir Life reported.
This shows that militancy will no longer terrorise people of other states from where a large number of tourists continue to pour into the valley to experience the famed Gulmarg Gondola. Official figures reveal that a total of 7,299 tourists rode the Gondola on Wednesday. A total of 4,982 enjoyed the ride on Phase I and 2,317 on Phase II. A JKCCC official said that the refund initiative was a management decision to support affected tourists. “Those unable to board on the specified dates will receive a 100 percent refund automatically.
There was no action required from the tourists to cancel the booking which the system will identify and process all eligible bookings without the need for ticket submissions.
