Kochi: Three sitting judges and two retired judges of the Madras High Court were among the passengers and crew who escaped a possible train mishap in Salem in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday, media reports said.
The Erode–MGR Chennai Central Yercaud Superfast Express hit a 10-foot-long piece of rail track and came to a halt as its brakes got stuck at 9.45 pm near Magudanchavadi railway station on Tuesday night.
The locomotive became immobilized and it took two hours for the authorities to arrange a spare engine to replace the faulty one.
The Railways is groping in the dark to nab anti nationals attempting to derail trains in Tamilnadu where such incidents are recurring frequently.
