Kochi: Delay by Kerala police in removing a body from railway track led to delay of train services from Ernakulam to Thiruvananthapuram via Kottayam today, media reports said.
Venad Express was detained for about one hour at Tripunithura due to the delay in the arrival of police to remove the body on the track.
Passengers including women and children on board Venad Express, which was already running late, suffered a lot due to the detention, passengers told The Newsskerala.com.
There are allegations against police for arriving late in such situations. There is no Railway police in Tripunithura which is a major suburban station of the port city of Kochi. The Railway station, which was recently modernised at a cost of over Rs 300 crore, has not been provided by the General Railway Police.
