Tremors hit parts of North

Kochi: Tremors of the magnitude 4.0 on the ritcher scale hit the Delhi-NCR and parts of North India in the wee hours of Monday, media reports said.
It was first experienced in Delhi-NCR region at around 5.36 am and then in Bihar at 8 am.
People ran out of high-rise buildings in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad.
The epicenter of the tremor in Delhi was located near Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education in Dhaula Kuan at a depth of five kilometres, officials confirmed.
There were no immediate reports of any casualties.
The area is prone to seismic activity. A quake of 3.3 magnitude earthquake was recorded in 2015.
An earthquake of 4.0 hit Bihar’s Siwan district at 8.02 am, according to the National Center for Seismology.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged citizens to “stay calm and follow safety precautions.”
“…Authorities are keeping a close watch on the situation,” he wrote in an X post.
