Kochi: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has warned people against 32 fake institutions operating across the country with Delhi topping the table with 12, media reports said.
The UGC warned that degrees issued by them are invalid for employment and higher education.
Uttar Pradesh stands third in the list, UGC which is a statutory body under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India, said.
The UGC stated that these institutions do not hold recognition from either the Central Government or any State Government.
Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Puducherry, West Bengal have two each, Arunachal Pradesh, Haryana, Jharkhand and Rajasthan one each.
