UP cops arrests terror suspect

Kochi: The Uttar Pradesh Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) has busted a radical network Mujahideen Army by arresting its mastermind Mohammad Raza of UP from Malappuram in Kerala, media reports said.
The gang was operating from Uttar Pradesh and Kerala, media reports said.
The ATS arrested Raza on Monday. He lived in Malappuram where he was trying to woo more cadre to his outfit.
Akmal Raza, Safeel Salmani alias Ali Razvi, Mohd Tausif, and Qasim Ali, who were members of the gang, were also arrested. Raza was the mastermind behind the launching of the Mujahideen Army with the aim of establishing a Sharia system in India inspired by Pakistan.
The ATS acted based on intel reports that some individuals from different districts were planning violent activities in the state. “They were also planning to target non-Muslim religious leaders,” the ATS said.
