Kochi: India went one up by defeating West Indies in the first of the five T-20 matches by 68 runs at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad and Tobago.
Put into bat, India made 190 losing six wickets. Captain Rohit Sharma hit a sparkling 64 in 44 deliveries while Dinesh Karthik looked more dangerous hitting 41 in 19 balls.
Alzarri Joseph took 2 for 46. Batting second, West Indies could gather only 122 for 8.
Brooks made 20 runs while Keemo19 and captain Pooran 18.
Ashwin took 2 for 22, Arshdeep Singh 2 for 24 and Ravi Bishnoi 2 for 26.
