Kochi: Multifaceted Malayalam writer M K Sanu, 97, passed away due to pneumonia at Ernakulam on Saturday.
Sanu who was also a critic, academic, biographer, journalist, orator, social activist and human rights activist had authored 36 books, at least.
A permanent member of the International Body for Human Rights, he was the founding member of the Mithram, a school for the mentally handicapped, in Mulanthuruthy in Ernakulam.
Born on 27 October 1928 in Thumpoly in the erstwhile Kingdom of Travancore, Sanu worked as a faculty in Sree Narayana College 1955 and Maharaja’s College in 1956.
He was elected to Kerala assembly from Ernakulam in 1987.
