Kochi: Operation Ganga has entered the final lap to bring back Indians stranded in the war torn Ukraine.
The Indian Embassy in Hungary has directed
the Indian students to reach the City Center in Budapest as part of the evacuation, media reports said.
Indians who are still stuck in Ukraine should register with Operation Ganga at the earliest, the Indian embassy at Kiev said.
A total of 13,300 people have been brought back home in 63 flights, the reports quoting Foreign Ministry official Arindam Bagchi said.
Fifteen flights were operated to bring 2,900 people during the last 24 hours.
Thirteen flights would be operated during the
next 24 hours to ferry Indians, a Nepal native and Bangladesh native.
Indian Embassy are making all efforts to reach those who are unable to register in Operation Ganga.
Attempts are being made to find out the number of Indians stuck in Ukraine.
India is getting transport assistance from Romania, Hungary, Poland, Moldova, Slovakia to carry out Operation Ganga
planned by Indian Ministry of External Affairs and Indian Armed Forces.
It is executed by Ministry of External Affairs, Indian Air Force and Air India, IndiGo, SpiceJet, Air India Express.
