In reply Sri Lanka shivered before India attack and was bundled out for 175 in the first innings. Nissanka alone showed some resistance and made an unbeaten 61.

Jadeja bowled brilliantly and took 5 for 41.

Continuing their second innings, the Islanders meekly surrendered and made just 178 even as Dickewella made an unbeaten 51. Jadeja remained consistent to claim 4 for 46 and Ashwin 4 for 41.

Jadeja joined the five member club by making more than 150 runs.

Ashwin surpassed Kapil Dev’s tally of 434 wickets when he sent Pathum Nissanka back to pavilion in the second innings.
