Kochi: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan Munir Ahmed was dismissed for allegedly keeping his marriage to a Pakistani national a secret, media reports said.
On May 24, 2023, Ahmed used a video call to marry Menal Khan who overstayed in India even after the expiry of her visa validity which Ahmed kept a secret.

Ahmed’s action was found detrimental to national security, officials said on Saturday.
Ahmed of 41st battalion was terminated immediately without a formal inquiry under rules allowing immediate dismissal in sensitive matters.
The matter came to the knowledge of the authorities while perusing the details of Pakistani citizens who were asked to leave India after terrorists shot dead 26 people at Pahalgam.
CRPF internal probe found that Ahmed had failed to report the marriage or the fact that his wife had overstayed her visa, triggering concerns over protocol breaches and potential security risks.
