Kochi: A court in Pathanamthitta has convicted 15 activists of SDPI and PFI in the killing of RSS leader Ranjith Sreenivasan on Saturday, media reports said.
The Mavelikkara Additional Sessions court will deliver the quantum of sentence on Monday. A member of the BJP Kerala Committee and Kerala secretary of the BJP OBC Morcha (State), Sreenivasan Ranjith, contested unsuccessfully as BJP candidate from Alappuzha in the 2016 assembly election.
Sreenivasan, who was a lawyer, was brutally killed by the members of Social Democratic Party of India and Popular Front of India in front of his family members in his house in Vellakinar, Alappuzha, on December 19, 2021.
The convicts are Naizam, Ajmal, Anoop, Muhammed Aslam, Salam Ponnad, Abdul Kalam, Safarudheen, Munshad, Jaseeb Raja, Navas, Shemeer, Naseer, Zakeer Hussain, Shaji Poovathungal and Shamnas Ashraf, the reports said.
