Kochi: A total of 34,199 persons were tested positive for COVID 19 in Kerala on Wednesday.
Ernakulam reported 5,953, Thiruvananthapuram 5,684, Thrissur 3,604,
Kozhikode 3,386, Kottayam 2,333, Pathanamthitta 1,944, Palakkad 1,920, Kannur 1,814, Kollam 1,742, Malappuram 1,579, Idukki 1,435, Alappuzha 1,339, Wayanad 798, Kasaragod 668.
A total of 91,983 samples were examined during the past 24 hours. There are 2,91,945 under observation in different places out of them 2,85,742 people are in home or institutional quarantine.
About 6,203 people are in hospital. About 1,094 new patients were admitted to hospital. Forty Nine persons succumbed to Covid taking the total number of deaths at 51,160.
About 99.8 percent of those eligible for vaccination were provided the first dose of it. Fifty-Seven percent of those in the 15 to 17 age group were vaccinated.
