Kochi: The Kerala Motor Vehicles Department drive against a private bus operator ‘Robin’ culminated in its seizure today, media reports said.
In a pre-dawn operation, the bus was impounded by the Motor Vehicles Department near Pathanamthitta, the reports said.
The operation was carried out with the backing of heavy police force when the bus arrived from Coimbatore.
The MVD said that the decision to impound the bus was taken for constant violation of Kerala High Court directives.
The bus has been taken to the Armed Reserve camp of the Kerala police.
The court had only permitted the bus to carry out operations for those who had booked tickets in advance, the officials said.
The bus fined by Kerala and Tamil Nadu in the last few days for alleged violation of norms.
On the other hand those connected with the operation of the bus have accused the MVD of violating Kerala High Court order.
